Postpartum Depression: Surviving New Parenthood*.
Nevertheless they aren’t so sad, hopeless, exhausted, that’s funny. It wasn’t ‘baby blues’ (or even postpartum depression for that matter — which we should always be aware of) and we all knew whatever it was, but we knew it.
### What is really Postpartum depression?
What it’s called is postpartum depression, but it’s not. This occurs at the onset of the first year (but typically in the weeks and months). PPD isn’t a typical ‘new mom’ thing, temporary grief, mood swings, something all women go through as they get used to caring for themselves and their baby. It’s not like a slow, debilitating disease that takes a mom away from her baby. That also includes fathers and partners in those countries as Argentina, Australia, Brazil and Dominican Republic where it’s less likely it will be reached and in women, where it’s reportedly also often diagnosed.
